Who We Are…
Hi, We are Wakefield Junior Triathlon Club!
Run under the guidance of British Triathlon and British Cycling, our regular club training sessions aim to improve skills and techniques in swimming, cycling and running and to improve fitness in all three disciplines. Our aim is to prepare our juniors for triathlons as well as cycling and running races.
“For anyone with kids just beginning their Triathlon adventures don’t think they’re too young to have a go (within reason, obviously). My 7yr old (Luca) is now fully committed to the Fri night cycle at BKCAT and the Tues night swim at Ossett. The reason for this, and main point of this post, is down to the quality and sensitivity of the coaching provided. So if you haven’t had enough praise to date, Greg, Stuart, Richard, Andy B, Martin (and others who help, volunteer with admin etc. stand up and take a bow! I have 2 children (Eve 11 yrs) well on their way to becoming frighteningly good athletes in the years to come because of this club. Bravo, I say.”
(Comment from a new parent)
We also have a “Transition Group” for triathletes in the last year or so with the Junior Club, who, after assessment by our coaches, are welcome to train and compete with the seniors. To find out more about the senior club, go to: www.wakefieldtriclub.co.uk
